  • Foundation for Seacoast Health Scholarships

    Who is eligible?

    Students pursuing a health-related degree, from Portsmouth, Rye, Newcastle, Greenland, Newington, and North Hampton, New Hampshire; Kittery, York and Elliott, Maine

    Application Deadline: April 1 for the following academic year

    The mission of the Foundation for Seacoast Health is to improve the health and well-being of Seacoast residents. In keeping with this mission, these awards are made to students pursuing a health-related career, and are based primarily on scholastic aptitude and performance, personal achievements, leadership, and community involvement.

  • The Northeast Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Program

    Who is eligible?

    Scholarships are available to Northeast Credit Union student-members who are in good standing, and have been a member for at least a year.

    Sponsor: Northeast Credit Union

    Amounts: Multiple scholarships from $1,000 to $5,000

  • Foundation of the National Student Nurses Association

    Who is eligible?

    Students currently enrolled in a an Associate’s Degree nursing program

    Sponsor: National Student Nurses Association

    Amounts: $1000 to $2500

    The Foundation of the National Student Nurses Association sponsors these scholarships, which are based on academic achievement, financial need, and community activities related to healthcare.

  • Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Scholarships

    Who is eligible?

    New Hampshire residents pursuing a degree in nursing, medicine or social work, with financial need and scholastic excellence

    Sponsor: Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Trust

    Amounts: $1000 to $5000

    Application Deadline: Mid-June

    Application: Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Trust, 127 Parrott Avenue, Portsmouth 03801

    The Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Scholarship Trust was established to provide funds for New Hampshire residents with an interest and desire to pursue post-secondary education in the fields of nursing, medicine, or social work, but who, because of financial circumstances would be otherwise unable to do so. Applications are available from the address noted above, and in the Great Bay Financial Aid Office.

  • Hope Starts Here Scholarship

    Who is eligible?

    New Hampshire residents who have experienced homelessness in their school career

    Sponsor: The NH Coalition to End Homelessness

    Amounts: $500 to $2000

    Application Deadline: May 1

    The NH Coalition to End Homelessness provides financial support to students currently living in NH who have experienced homelessness in their school career, have a desire to continue their education beyond high school, and have demonstrated academic achievement.

  • Unitil Scholarships

    Who is eligible?

    Graduating high school seniors pursuing careers in STEM related fields, within Unitil service territory

    Sponsor: Unitil Corporation

    Amounts: $5000

    Application Deadline: March 14

    Unitil accepts applications from graduating high school seniors who will pursue an undergraduate degree in the STEM subject areas—science, technology, engineering, and math. Unitil is committed to supporting STEM education and to helping local students succeed. For consideration, applicants must be within Unitil’s service territory.

  • Orphans of Veterans Scholarships

    Who is eligible?

    Children of parents who served on active duty in the US armed forces, and whose parents died on active duty or have since died from a service-connected disability

    Sponsor: New Hampshire Department of Education

    Amounts: Full tuition and $2500 toward board, books, and supplies.

    Application Deadline: September 1

    These scholarships are administered by the New Hampshire Department of Education, Division of Higher Education, for the support of children of US armed forces members (and New Hampshire residents) who died on active duty, or as the result of a service-connected disability.

  • NH Works Workforce Investment Act Training Grants

    Who is eligible?

    Unemployed, underemployed, and dislocated workers.

    Sponsor: New Hampshire’s Office of Workforce Opportunity

    Amounts: Tuition and fees.

    Application Deadline: rolling

    NH Works administers Workforce Investment Act funding for training programs throughout the state. Several students in Great Bay’s Advanced Composites Manufacturing Program have their tuition and fees covered by WIA funding.

  • EDvestinU Quarterly Scholarship Giveaway
    Awarded By:

    New Hampshire Higher Education Loan Corporation (NHHELCO)

    Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three scholarships offered.
     
    Description: This award is for current undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants must be a resident of New Hampshire or must attend a college or university in New Hampshire.

     

    Application requirements for the EDvestinU™ Quarterly Scholarship Giveaway are:

    Additional Information: Winners will be drawn at random from all eligible entries that month and the drawings will occur on or around the first of the following month. Winners will not be eligible to win in subsequent months. Winners may not choose an alternate prize and the prize may not be transferred.
     

    Award Amount: $1,500, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,500.

  • New Hampshire Health Profession Opportunity Project (HPOP)

    Who is eligible?

    Motivated, low-income adults seeking to train for and find jobs in health care occupations in New Hampshire.

    Sponsor: NH Department of Health and Human Services and Lutheran Social Services of New England

    Amounts: Tuition and fees.

    Application Deadline: rolling

    HPOP uses an employer-driven model to identify gaps in skilled health-care occupations. Financial support is available for educational expenses. Help with needed prerequisites is available prior to entering a health occupation training program.

  • Skrungloo Farm Scholarship Program

    Who is eligible?

    New Hampshire residents with financial need, academic merit, and other non-academic factors, such as community service, school activities and work experience.

    This scholarship was established to help residents of New Hampshire educate and better themselves, resulting in a stronger community.

  • Military Tuition Assistance

    Who is eligible?

    Members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

    Sponsor: United States Veterans’ Administration.

    Amounts: tuition and fees

    Application Deadline: rolling

    The Armed Forces offers soldiers, sailors, marines, guardsman, and airmen several programs to support their education goals including up to 100% Tuition Assistance for college courses taken during off-duty hours. Each service has its own criteria for eligibility, obligated service, application process’ and restrictions. This money is usually paid directly to the institution by the individual services.

  • New Hampshire National Guard Tuition Waiver Program

    Who is eligible?

    Matriculated students serving in the NH Army or NH Air National Guard

    Sponsor: Community College System of New Hampshire

    Amounts: tuition

    Application Deadline: rolling

    Guard members should contact their commanding officer/unit administrator or Education Services Officer for more details and to obtain a Tuition Waiver Application. Students must also apply for financial aid, using the FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov. Waivers are applied after any National Guard Scholarships, and student financial aid grants.

     
  • Veterans Assistance

    Who is eligible?

    Qualified veterans and their dependents

    Great Bay Community College is approved for veterans under the Veterans Adjustment Act (GI Bill) the Veterans Educational Program (VEAP), the Montgomery GI Bill, and Dependents Educational Assistance Program. Qualified enrolled veterans and their dependents may receive monthly financial benefits as full-time and part-time students. Applications and information on the various programs available to veterans is available from the VA Certifying Officer in the Great Bay Registrar’s office.

  • Medallion Fund Scholarship

    Who is eligible?

    Individuals of any age who are enrolling in any accredited vocational or technical program that does NOT lead to a four-year baccalaureate degree.

    Sponsor: The Manchester Regional Community Foundation / N.H. Charitable Foundation.

    Amounts: varies

    The Medallion Fund was created by a group of area businessmen who recognize that a skilled workforce is critical for expanding economic development. The goal of the fund is to assist individuals who are interested attending accredited vocational or technical programs for the purpose of improving their workforce skills, especially in areas of need in the state of New Hampshire.

  • Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer scholarship

    Who is eligible?

    Current students with senior status or recent graduates, planning to enroll full-time in a Bachelor’s degree program. Students with a CGPA of 3.5 or better. Students exhibiting financial need.

    The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s programs are designed to encourage and support outstanding students who work hard and have financial need. The Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is specifically for current students with sophomore status (seniors at Great Bay Community College) or recent graduates, to support their transfer to a Bachelor’s Degree program.

  • NHHEAF Network Scholarship

    Who is eligible?

    The NHHEAF Network Scholarship is an annual scholarship program created to support eligible New Hampshire residents in covering the cost of tuition and reducing the need for college borrowing. The scholarship program is open to New Hampshire Residents who are sophomores, juniors and seniors in college; it offers a range of scholarships, targeted at students who have demonstrated a commitment to either Community Service, Leadership, or Academic Excellence. The program also includes an “Opportunity Scholarship,” available to first-generation college students.

    Eligibility Requirements:

    • NH Resident, although may attend college out-of-state
    • Enrolled in college at least half-time
    • Be a returning undergraduate student (non-freshman) in Fall 
    • Demonstration of financial need (see details below)
    • GPA of 2.5 or higher at the time of application
    • Please Note: Prior NHHEAF Scholarship recipients are welcome to reapply, but first-time applicants will be given priority.

    Application Deadline: Deadline for submission of the Scholarship Application is May 1.

    Application: NHHEAF Network Scholarship

    The following scholarships are available. Students may apply for multiple scholarships but will only be eligible to receive ONE.

    1. The NHHEAF Community Service Scholarship
      Please submit an essay or video demonstrating your commitment to community service through extracurricular activities, employment, volunteer work, etc.
    2. The NHHEAF Academic Excellence Scholarship
      Please submit an essay or video describing your academic accomplishments. Note that for this scholarship, GPA will be considered more strongly.
    3. The NHHEAF Leadership Scholarship
      Please submit an essay or video demonstrating your leadership abilities and/or your commitment to developing leadership skills through your academic program, extracurricular activities, employment, volunteer work, etc.
    4. The NHHEAF Opportunity Scholarship
      This scholarship is for first-generation college students. Please submit an essay or video demonstrating how you have created opportunity for yourself and what a college education means to you.
